Covid19 Support Information: tourism, conferences, and events
Covid19 Support Information
It is mind-boggling to consider that it was just 12 months ago today that Aotearoa New Zealand had our very first confirmed case of Covid-19. At the time, we seemed very uninformed and perhaps naive about what was to come.
Yet in only a year, we have learnt so much about this virus - from transmission and variations, to lockdowns and levels, through to epidemiological linking and genome sequencing.
What we are still navigating is how to run events and conferences safely and when we make the decision to postpone.
For those who are new to the industry, or not sure where to go for assistance or further information on running events and conferences during different levels, here is a link to the current information via each of the industry associations:

Despite it only being 7 days of confirmed level 3 lockdown for Auckland, while the rest of Aotearoa jumps up to level 2, the consequences feel overwhelming. It has meant the cancellation of many events, postponement of conferences, and business owners left feeling angry, frustrated and needing support once again. There is Government support available which you can learn more about here:

As a small business, we recognise how distressing this constant change can be. We would encourage you to reach out to your industry colleagues, make time for that phone or Zoom call, and know that you are not alone in this battle.
We are going to keep this post at the top of our Newsroom and will provide links across our social media this week. Stay strong, look after yourself, and one-another.
