Jessica Vandy - Founder & Managing Director

Jessica is our founder, lead curator and head project strategist. Born in London and raised in the west coast town of Whāingaroa/Raglan, she is the boss, the bones, and oversees the day-to-day operations.

She is a tourism and events alumni, having spent the last twenty years working in the tourism and event sectors in Aotearoa New Zealand, Australia, and Asia Pacific. Until launching The Tenth Letter, she worked in Tourism New Zealand’s international bid team. Securing international events and developing Tourism New Zealand’s social impact programme Conference Impact Aotearoa.

In 2019, Jessica established Project Waikato, a collaborative partnership between a number of local organisations designed to attract conferences to the Waikato region that would aim to create social impact initiatives for the community.

In late 2020, Jessica launched The Tenth Letter to offer new solutions to both the tourism and event sectors. Recognising the significant issues both sectors were facing, she felt it was an opportune time to launch a start-up that focused on solutions for a regenerative future. She now consults, facilitates, and advocates for looking beyond sustainability. She works with destinations and event organisers across Asia Pacific to empower the industry to thrive responsibly.

Jessica is the Asia Pacific Representative for Global Destination Sustainability Movement and an international collaboration partner at social impact agency Meet4Impact.
