Blog: PCO Masterclass, The Future of Hybrid Conference

In December we hosted a workshop on The Future of Hybrid Conferencing for the Business Events Industry Aotearoa PCO Group Masterclass. The purpose was to understand the challenges of hybrid conferencing and how it has impacted the sector, share innovative ideas and technology, and develop a uniquely New Zealand destination experience for future hybrid & virtual delegates.

Business Events Industry Aotearoa PCO Group Masterclass, Dec 2020

Hybrid & virtual conferencing has become common place for many conference and event organisers. However as we plan for 2021 and beyond, issues such as monetisation, sponsorship, virtual exhibitions, and having teams highly experienced in hybrid still remain.

Arna Wahl Davies, co-founder of Composition and chair of the PCO Group has been tasked with determining the next steps. Navigating and understanding virtual and hybrid technologies, educating clients, and building capacity in the industry are all key success factors.

While the borders remain closed in Aotearoa New Zealand, virtual and hybrid are here to stay. We look forward to following the journey and seeing the future of hybrid conferencing evolve in 2021.
